Location

Bribie Island is a popular tourist destination located less than one hour’s drive north of Brisbane, Queensland’s capital city. Bribie Island is a national and marine park, linked to the mainland by bridge. Bribie Island boasts pristine beaches and waterways, providing many opportunities for a variety of watersports and camping adventures. The heritage listed Glasshouse Mountains and world-class beaches of the Sunshine Coast are also within an hour’s drive of Bribie Island.

Local Community

A strong sense of community exists on the island, hence the community is very supportive of the school. There is a local bus service, including a school bus service. The bus service has a direct link to the Brisbane rail network. Bicycle pathways and the size of the island make bicycling or walking to school easy options as well.

Study Options

Bribie Island State High School has recently joined the International Student Program offered through Education Queensland International. As part of this program, our school provides the following study options:

Study Abroad Program
These programs provide students with an opportunity to attend our school for 1 term (3 months), 1 semester (6 months) or 1 academic year (12 months). International students participate in the normal academic program with our students, allowing them to integrate into the school community and improve their English proficiency.

Group Study Tour Programs
Study Tour Programs range from 1 day visits to 10 weeks. The programs include intensive English lessons, integration into the classroom and excursions to popular tourist destinations.
