Student Resource Scheme

The school operates a voluntary resource management scheme (SRS) to minimise the cost of textbooks and other learning materials for parents. The Scheme is offered as a service to students and parents, and operates under the policy and guidelines of Education Queensland. The scheme is detailed in the Subject Selection Booklet, which includes information on eligibility, how you can be a participant, costs, payment methods and options. The BIRMS Application and Subject Selection Form also provide details on the scheme. Both of these documents are included in the school’s enrolment package for your convenience.

  • Long term loan of all textbooks for classroom / or home use
  • Short term loans for classroom and / or home use (e.g. plays or novels studied in English)
  • Use of class sets (e.g. atlases, dictionaries, textbooks etc.)
  • Use of reference material
  • A necessary range of teacher prepared notes and student worksheets in all subject areas
  • Some equipment items (e.g. Physical education equipment)

Education Querensland actively encourages schools to provide Textbook Resouce Schemes in an effort to reduce costs to parents.  This allows books and materials to be purchased early and discounts to be secured through early payment and bulk ordering.

To this end Bribie Island State High School, with approval of the Parents’ and Citizens Association, has elected to recieve a direct bulk payment equivalent to the total of Text and Resource Allowances for all students.

Further details of the scheme are provided in the Subject Selection Booklet.
